Well, we're back home again (if you can call an apartment you lived in for 10 weeks before hitting the road again "home"), after several days of driving hard across 6 states and 2 time zones, just after "falling back" for Daylight Savings Time. I'm still trying to stay up past 7:15 p.m. (and not succeeding much!).
We left Shell Knob, Missouri after an extremely pleasant and relaxing visit with family - we didn't do much there besides visit nearby Roaring River State Park, another gem of a park with a spring-fed river, a fish hatchery, wonderful CCC structures, and a few nice hikes. We also enjoyed the beautiful view of Table Rock Lake from Darell's mom's home. The weather ran the gamut from windy (which made the lake choppy) to rainy (which made the lake grey) to sunny and calm (which made the lake blue and still). The leaves danced daily, and it never got too cold! But the weather forecasts were calling for a cold snap all across the journey home, so we high-tailed it back before the cold snapped us!

This will be my last blog post for a bit - we'll be home for the winter holidays, and probably set out again when we get sick of the cold. Probably January 2!
