FULL MOON UP; FULL MOON DOWN

We watched the full moon come up last night over the distant mountain range. Glorious. And just to put the icing on the cake, I went out the back of the Chinook at about 10 o'clock and heard a rustling in the shrubs. I shined the flashlight on two green, glowing eyes. A big coyote stared me down, about 15 feet from our back door. The only thing that would've been better than sighting a coyote on a full moon would be if he'd  howled at it!

This morning, we watched the orange sunrise out of one window of the Chinook, and the glowing moon set behind the mountains out of the other window. I've never seen anything like that before. Probably won't ever again.

We set out from Kartchner Caverns State Park this morning and stopped in the nice town of Benson, Arizona to do laundry and get lunch at the Old Benson Ice Cream Shop (where they have 60 flavors of soft-serve ice cream). Darell had a "Glacier" with chocolate chunks, brownie pieces, and chocolate mints, which he reported to be "the best ice cream I've ever had", and I had a waffle cone with a scoop of Praline Pecans 'n' Cream and a scoop of Pistachio Almond. Ice cream for lunch. Awesome.
